December 5-8,2011, Marie-Soleil Lacoursiere from our Yellowknife office joined Teresa Chilkowich from our Dehcho office in Fort Liard. A wide variety of meetings, information sharing & home visits filled the 3 days they were in the community.

Connecting with the Community - Marie-Soleil and Teresa were very grateful for Lisa Bertrand’s introductions to community residents who we shared information on Energy Efficiency & ways to integrate these concepts into the municipal, residential, & commercial operations.

Home Visits –Marie-Soleil and Teresa met with 8 residents at their homes along with another 10-12 people away from their homes where they offered up a few different incentive items to help decrease the amount of energy being used in their homes for heating fuel, water & electricity.

Meetings – connections were made with a number of people from different organizations including the Acho Dene Koe First Nation (Band Manager), the Village of Fort Liard (Finance, Public Works, Wellness & Recreation, & Protective Services), Acho Dene School, Aurora College (Community Adult Educator and students), Johnny’s Place Restaurant (Manager & Cook), Northern Store, Beaver Enterprises (CFO), Acho Dene Crafts, HSS (Community Health Rep. & Home Care Workers) & ENR.
