The Arctic Energy Alliance collaborated with Yichao Chen, a graduate student from Concordia University to do an inventory of the solar air heating systems currently installed in the NWT. Solar air heating systems (sometime referred to by their product name SolarWall) use solar energy to heat and ventilate indoor spaces in buildings.

The overall goal of the project is to set up monitoring on several of the installations and to eventually quantify the potential in terms of energy savings of this technology in different regions of the NWT. While Yichao was here she visited 5 of the 6 installations including those in Yellowknife and Inuvik and started setting up monitoring systems in 2 of the installations.
