Changes to Energy Efficiency Incentive Program (EEIP)

As of August 1st, 2012, there will be several changes in the rebates available:

  • Outboard motors no longer qualify for a rebate.
  • Energy Star® refrigerators and washers in hydro communities’ rebates are reduced to $50; the rebates in non-hydro communities will remain at $400.
  • Heat recovery ventilators (HRV) are required to have the Energy Star® certification.
  • Low/dual flush toilet rebate is $50.
  • Oil furnaces and boilers rebate is $1,000 for an oil furnace with 92% AFUE or higher, and $600 for an oil boiler with 85% AFUE or higher.
  • Gas or propane furnaces and boilers rebate is $1,000 for a gas boiler with 92% AFUE or higher, and $500 for a gas furnace with 95% AFUE or higher

Rebates for water heaters, windows, doors, wood stoves, pellet stoves and insulation all remain the same.
