The winner of a free Home Energy Evaluation (EGH) at the recent Inuvik Energy Fair was Corrine Bullock. She chose to give her prize to her grandmother Ruth Pulk since Corrine's home is currently undergoing repairs. Ken Baigent, one of Arctic Energy Alliance’s Energy Management Specialists, completed the home evaluation this week and will be preparing a report indicating the current efficiency rating of Ruth's house with options to improve overall efficiency and reduce energy costs.

While Ken was in Inuvik for the Energy Fair, he completed 3 other Home Energy Evaluations, connected with some local contractors on efficiency options, and discussed renewable energy, including wood & pellet heating, solar hot water, solar electricity & wind energy. As energy costs are high in the north (and natural gas prices about to increase in Inuvik and Norman Wells), interest in energy efficiency is gaining momentum. Ken hopes for a return trip soon to continue support for homeowners.
