The Inuvik Capital Suites Hotel received a rebate cheque for $4,169.43 in January 2013 from the Commercial Energy Conservation and Efficiency Program (CECEP). The funding helped offset the costs of installing occupancy sensors in the hotel’s hallways. This move will save the hotel about 9,000 kWh of electricity per year and about $3,000 in annual energy costs.
