On July 16, 2013, Arctic Energy Alliance’s (AEA) Regional Energy Project Coordinators Donald Andre & Wayne Lennie accompanied Canadian Solar Institute trainer Mario Borsato on a day trip to Tsiigehtchic and Fort McPherson. During that day, using the Solar Pathfinder, solar assessments were conducted on the Tsiigehtchic community freezer and on Fort McPherson’s Visitor Centre and Band Office. The Solar Pathfinder is a professional solar photovoltaics (PV) installer's tool for determining the most economical and efficient PV array size, location and position. The Solar Pathfinder measures the amount of shading on a specific site and projects the solar energy over a year, both invaluable to design a system that meets the customers’ energy needs and objectives.
