Teresa Chilkowich, Dehcho Regional Energy Project Coordinator for Arctic Energy Alliance (AEA), enjoys tending to the daily inquiries and networking opportunities that arise in her Dehcho First Nations Office in Fort Simpson. Earlier in August, a short community visit was made to Jean Marie River in conjunction with NWT Housing Corporation staff to help AEA gather information from Lucy and Isador Simon (owners of Lucy’s B & B) who are keen to work toward energy efficient upgrades and make use of the Commercial Energy Conservation & Efficiency Program (CECEP). At the end of August, Teresa was also fortunate to have the opportunity to offer a short overview of AEA services and share energy efficiency information with community representatives in Fort Simpson who gathered for the Decho First Nation’s most recent AIP (Agreement in Principle) discussions.

Teresa is looking forward to the upcoming Wood Energy Technology Transfer (WETT) Training at the end of September in Fort Simpson. Prior to this she will be attending the Hay River Business, Home, & Leisure Show on September 7th then visiting Trout Lake September 9th – 13th. In Trout Lake she will offer a mix of hands-on community sessions to share information about energy efficiency, home winterization, “phantom” power, and renewable energy technologies such as solar.
