The “Burn it Smart Workshop” hosted by the City of Yellowknife and presented by Linda Todd from the Arctic Energy Alliance (AEA) was a great success. A number of people came out to learn more about safe and efficient ways to burn wood as a heat source in their homes.

Some people already have wood or pellet stoves; some are considering using wood or pellets as a supplementary heat source. There were good discussions and information sharing during and after the presentation. Some lucky participants left with a door prize.

AEA has offered this workshop in many other communities around the Northwest Territories and it continues to be a popular service provided by AEA.
