Last week, Steve Outlet, Programs Coordinator with Arctic Energy Alliance (AEA) visited Fort Providence and Enterprise.

While in Fort Providence he was supporting the installation of the first oil water heaters as part of our electric water heater exchange program. Taylor & Company did a very professional job with the water heater installations and worked long hours in order to complete the installations on time. Williams Engineering was on site on Friday to do the final inspection which went well. This is a great start to our water heater exchange program!

While in the area, Steve also drove to Enterprise to meet with T. Jay Klassen at Klassen Homes to discuss how to help his manufacturer reach EGH 80 on the homes being brought into the Northwest Territories. This may turn into a great opportunity for AEA to learn more about how modular homes are assembled and potentially help manufacturers improve the efficiency of their product on a large scale. We certainly look forward to working with T. Jay and his family to improve their business and improve northern housing.
