In March, the Arctic Energy Alliance (AEA) hosted energy fairs in the communities of Norman Wells and Tulita. The fair in Norman Wells was focused on heating options available to residents, considering the natural gas shortage in the community. Residents will be required to switch heating fuels by November of 2014 and AEA is able to provide information to help with the decision. There was also a viewing of the Yamouri Inn’s pellet boiler that is also connected to a number of buildings in the town square.

Nick Walker, Energy Management Specialist in our Yellowknife office, and Wayne Lennie, Sahtu Regional Energy Project Coordinator in our Norman Wells office, travelled to Tulita where they held another small energy fair. They also performed a commercial energy audit and met with Tulita’s Economic Development Officer Tejas Kashyap. They had a great meeting with Tejas about projects that have been done in Tulita and possible projects for the future.
