Arctic Energy Alliance (AEA) staff, Yichao Chen, attended and gave a presentation at the 3rd Annual General Meeting (May 4th-6th, 2014) of the Smart Net-Zero Energy Building Research Network (SNEBRN) in Montreal on behalf of AEA. AEA’s presentation at the AGM focused on the Design of High Performance Northern Buildings. The network (SNEBRN) is currently the major Canadian research effort in smart net-zero energy buildings.  It brings together researchers from 15 Canadian universities, experts from government, utilities, and industries to develop the smart net-zero energy homes and commercial buildings of the future.  AEA recently joined the Network as an industrial partner and aims to collaborate with students and researchers and support research projects of common interest. For more information, see their website.

After the AGM, Yichao attended the eSIM Building Simulation conference in Ottawa, May 6-9th, 2014. eSim is the International Building Performance Simulation Association of Canada’s biennial conference which brings together professionals, academics and students interested in building performance simulation advancements and applications.  For more information, see their website.
