The Arctic Energy Alliance recently held a WETT (Wood Energy Technology Transfer Inc.) training course in Norman Wells the week of August 11th -16th, 2014, at the Edward Hodgson Building boardroom.  Instructor Zigi Gadomski, a certified WETT instructor from BC, traveled to Norman Wells and taught the course to students from the Sahtu Region. The course will mainly help the community of Fort Good Hope with an upcoming woodstove project where they plan to install 30 wood stoves.  It is important to the community to have local residents trained in WETT to help with this project.

The Students participated in a “code compliance course”, a “wood burning systems course”, and a “site basic inspection course”.  They also conducted free inspections on wood and pellet stoves in the community on the last day.  Three students were from Fort Good Hope and one from Norman Wells.
