During the first week of September, Arctic Energy Alliance’s Sahtu Regional Energy Project Coordinator, Wayne Lennie, visited Deline to assess the progress of the hot water heater replacement project. 11 homes in Deline have received new fuel fired hot water heaters to replace electric hot water heaters. Wayne visited each home with the contractor to inspect the work done and make arrangements for any additional work to be completed.

These new water heaters will reduce the home’s use of electricity and therefore save the homeowners money. They will also reduce the amount of greenhouse gases being released into the environment since Deline produces electricity using a diesel generator.
