Fort McPherson resident, Margaret Vittrekwa, is looking forward to saving energy, water and money with her new Energy Star® rated washing machine purchased at her local Northern store. Energy Star® is an internationally recognized symbol indicating that the product has been tested and found to meet or exceed higher energy efficient levels without compromising performance. Energy Star® washing machines use 20% less energy, 35% less water and can handle larger capacity of clothes – reducing the number of loads per week!

Margaret was also eligible for a rebate through the Energy Efficiency Incentive Program (EEIP) for $400 since she lives in a community that uses diesel generators for their electricity needs and purchased her washer within the Northwest Territories.
