With the advent of the new fiscal year, funds are once again available for Commercial Energy Conservation and Efficiency Program (CECEP) rebates. The applications are flowing in from businesses trying to get their applications pre-approved early in the event that we run out of funding, as occurred towards the end of last fiscal year. CECEP rebates are available for businesses in NWT communities implementing eligible energy efficiency projects that save heating fuel, electricity or water.

An Arctic Energy Alliance Energy Management Specialist is planning to be in Inuvik and a few other Beaufort Delta communities in early June to complete the site visits for some of the free CECEP Energy Audits that have been requested by businesses in the region. Once the site visits have been completed, the Specialist will analyze the building’s energy systems and make building-specific recommendations, including capital and O&M cost estimates and potential savings. The receipt of this information will assist the building owners in prioritizing the building upgrades they are planning to do.
