Ecology North will be hosting a gathering May 22nd and 23rd at the Tree of Peace Friendship Centre to discuss building a northern economy focused on local needs and renewable resources. Speakers will provide a wide range of perspectives on pressing issues like food and energy security, education, climate change, and government. Sheena Adams, Arctic Energy Alliance’s Inuvik Regional Energy Project Coordinator, will be presenting Friday afternoon. Sheena will participate on the 4th panel: Understanding the Market, Technologies, Costs and Benefits of Generating Our Own Energy.

Ecology North is encouraging NWT-wide participation through the Locolized Economies Website. You can register to attend the conference by emailing admin@ecologynorth.ca or dropping by the Ecology North Office at 5013 51st Street.
