The Arctic Energy Alliance (AEA) has received limited-time funding from the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) and the Government of Canada to help displace fossil fuel-based heating systems with electric heating systems. This applies to the South Slave communities of Enterprise, Fort Resolution, Fort Smith, Hay River and Kátł’odeeche. The funding will support investments in electric heating systems for non-profit organizations, businesses, and community and Indigenous governments in these South Slave communities.

For more information and to apply, see the expression of interest form and guidelines linked below. Applying is easy, simple and can save you money and energy. Businesses, non-profits and community and Indigenous governments in the South Slave communities of Enterprise, Fort Resolution, Fort Smith, Hay River and Kátł’odeeche are eligible. There is a limited amount of funding so it’s possible not all applications will be funded.

Rebate levels

  • Up to 50% of the project can be paid for by funding
  • Up to $50,000 per organization
