Check out our latest annual report to see what the AEA has been up to over the past year. Here are some of the highlights:
- We provided 3,024 total rebates and other incentives, worth $2.5 million.
- The clients we worked with will annually save:
- 1,500 tonnes of greenhouse gases—equivalent to eliminating the greenhouse gases produced from driving a passenger car 5.7 million kilometers.
- 14,000 GJ worth of oil, propane, natural gas and gasoline—equivalent to 350,000 L of heating oil (2,200 barrels), or 400,000 L of gasoline (2,500 barrels)
- 1,300 MWh of electricity—equivalent to taking two communities the size of Wekweèti off the grid
- $990,000 in energy costs
- For the second time ever, the Beaufort–Delta region outpaced the North Slave region in the total number of rebates we gave out for energy-efficient products (under our Energy Efficiency Incentive Program), and the Sahtú region outpaced the North Slave for the first time ever. We gave out 901 rebates in the Beaufort–Delta, 593 in the Sahtú and 510 in the North Slave.
- We gave out 117 rebates on electric transportation. This year, the category included not only electric passenger vehicles, but also e-bikes and electric on-the-land transportation.
- We worked with five partner communities to get 61 efficient wood stoves installed in residents’ homes, which will save a combined 2,600 kg of particulate emissions and 59 tonnes of greenhouse gases a year.
